A Federal Community Development Block Grant in 1987 allowed the City to remove overhead utility lines from around the Courthouse square, re-do sidewalks, install period lighting, and plant trees in the four block area. These improvements enhanced our historic downtown area by providing a more visually pleasing environment.
The citizens of Quincy are ever mindful of preserving the charm and elegance of old Quincy, which make this a unique and wonderful place to spend an hour, a day, or a lifetime.
